An Excellent Weekend

We had our February Bunco this past Saturday! And even though it was very small, we still had a lot of fun! My mother ofcourse wanted to do the Valentine's Day theme. So we had flower petals, heart confetti and chocolate candy, spread out on the tables. For dinner we had Spaghetti with Garlic Sauce, Chicken, Potatoes and Ribs! My personal favorite was the dessert! We had Homemade Cheesecake, Chocaolate Covered Strawberrys, Pumpkin Spice Rolls and a Strawberry Tart! It was so delicious! With Bunco I started off kind of slow. We play 4 rounds total, 1-6 each round, for a total of 24 hands. Well I had lost already 4 games in a row and then finally, I got my first Bunco! Bunco is whatever round you are on, say youre on 3s and you have 3 di each game, if all 3 di were faced on 3s, that is Bunco. I dont really know how to explain it better for you. Anyways so I had gotten my first Bunco and afterwards I started to win! Ofcourse I lost the game in general, but I had FIVE BUNCOS and the big Bunco Dice! So I won a little moo-lah! lol.
My aunt had brought her grandchildren, because my cousin and his girlfriend were working. But my Aunt Sandy had dressed them in these cute little outfits, with the most adorable little black and silver shoes! Well it wasnt until about halfway through Bunco that we noticed that they each had on a different shoe. Same design, but one shoe had a heel and the other was flat like a ballet slipper! Needless to say, we teased my aunt for the rest of the night! And our winner for the night was my cousin, Lisa! She was carrying around one of the girls all night and ended up having 17 wins and 4 losses! So she was calling, Rachael, the twin she carried all night, her 'Good Luck Charm'

On a side note, Sunday we went to the movies. We ended up seeing Big Miracle, which is a true story about California Gray Back whales being trapped under the ice off the coast of Barrow, Alaska. This happened back in 1988 and it was a big deal for Greenpeace and the Oil Companies in Alaska. Well I do have to say that even though there are some very sad parts, this movie was excellent! I highly reccommend it to anyone who doesnt mind watching a little tear-jerker!

Well until next time ladies and gents! Have a good week!

Kimberly

Power to the Bowlers

Well the Candlelight Bowl was a success! I swear more and more people show up to that thing every year! Melissa herself had signed up 21 couples! We took over six lanes, which is pretty crazy sinced there were 2 couples to a lane!
So normally how everything works is there are three games of bowling. The first game, the girl goes first and the guy picks it up. The second game, the guy goes first and the girl picks up! And the last game, each frame we have to bowl a different way. Whether it be skipping to the fowl line, hopping on one foot or sitting down at the fowl line and kicking the ball. We had so much fun! And ofcourse we all had to take pictures there! Now I dont have any of people bowling, because that would be too embarrassing! But here's what I have for you!

So Theresa, Rich and I were taking a 'cousins' photo! We were oh how nice! Then something happened..............

Kimberly wanted to join in and take a pictures! But the fun wasnt over because.........

Joey wanted to join in as well! I swear my mouth hurt so much after this night! lol

So ofcourse they had all different types of raffles and gifts. They had quite a few good ones too! There were some massage packages, suitcases with liquor in it (ofcourse I wanted to win that!), Blackhawks baskets with little goodies, Cubs and Sox baskets. And then there were tickets to a Cubs and Sox game in June! My sister is ABSOLUTELY obssessed with the Cubs, Blackhawks as well, but she didnt see the tickets that they had! I asked her if she had put any raffle tickets in for it and she was like 'WHAT? There are Cubs/Sox tickets there?! I didnt see them, go put some raffle tickets in for me!' So I did! And GUESS WHAT HAPPENED! She won them! Yep, and she has me to thank for it! lol
So all in all, it was a pretty good night! Will talk to you soon!

Love,
Kimberly

Bowling in the Candlelight

It's that time of the year! Candlelight Bowl! I love when it comes around! Hanging out with my family, drinking and bowling are all things that I love to do!

Each year my cousin's bowling league hosts a Candlelight bowl for those in need. This year it is for a man who has cancer and cannot pay his medical bills. Unfortunately that man has passed away. So the money is going to his family to help pay his expenses. Plus we also get little odds and ends for soldier in Iraq! Such things like chapstick, soap, pringles, gum, etc! And this year we are also collecting things for Animal Rescues. Newspaper, toys, food, litter, blankets etc. It's amazing to see how much everyone and their families come together for this event. There are also different raffles available such as jerseys, baskets of alcohol, massage certificates, etc. I cannot wait to have fun this saturday! I get to see everyone I love. I get to drink, which is something I have done since the holidays and even then it was only a little. And I get to bowl!

On a side note school is surprisingly going well! I kinda love my Chem teacher! He is pretty awesome! Work is a little abnoxious, but unfortunately I am positive that  everyone has days like that. So I just try to go to school and work one day at a time. Just taking things slowly to try to be more patient. Wish me luck!

Kimberly
